 The story takes place in 1923, when vampires have been around for quite a while. Suddenly the number of vampires increases as a mysterious, man-made source of blood called Ascra appears. The Japanese government then founds the "Code Zero", a unit within the army that has the task of eliminating the vampire troops. And what better way to track down vampires than with the help of vampires?

This unit created by Lieutenant General Nakajima has dealt with information warfare in the past but has been turned inside out to solve the vampire crisis. It's up to Code Zero and S-Class vampire Deffrot to investigate the rise in vampires and stop it before society collapses.

 On the official website of the anime adaptation of "MARS RED" it was announced today that the series will be broadcast on Japanese television from April 2021. In addition, two new characters have been introduced, which you can find below.

 

 

Anime is created in the Signal.md studio
MARS RED- is directed by Kouhei Hatano (episode director for »Angels of Death«) in the Signal.md studio. Jun’ichi Fujisaku (Blood ) writes the script, while Yukari Takeuchi (Norn9) animates the original character design by Kemuri Karakara. Toshiyuki Muranaka ("In This Corner of the World") composes the music.

The anime is a co-production by Funimation and will be shown worldwide on the US company's platforms, which include WAKANIM.WAKANIM has not yet officially confirmed the simulcast.

The series is based on a reading production by Bun’ō Fujisawa, which appeared in Japan in 2013 and continued in 2015 and 2017. A manga adaptation of "Laughing Under the Clouds" -Mangaka Kemuri Karakara has been published in the "Monthly Comic Garden" magazine since 2019.
